My sister Cheryl is the traveler of the family : ) She’s had adventures like almost no one else I know. (Except for friend Sharon C who has literally been to every continent but she was a flight attendant for many years so I’m not sure that counts). Once she took off to spend a few weeks in Thailand and stayed for a year! When she came home to visit at Christmas even the spaces between her toes were tan…
Today is her birthday so in her adventuring spirit I wish her Happy Birthday with this Thai-inspired table setting.
The fabulous Thai dancing girls and bowl are all part of a set, there is even a cigarette box that matches that I couldn’t find a place for. I actually own more than one set of dancers (the why and wherefores can be discussed later!) but this is by far the best of them.
My sister always had an eye for the different and unusual, whether it was a hair cut, her clothes or furniture, she is unique. In the spirit of fun and smart this is for her –
The gold chargers from the Mardi Gras table were so fun they came back for a visit. Gold rimmed white china holds vintage marigold carnival plates and peach depression glass bowls.
Orange and gold napkins that match the tablecloth rest inside gold filigree napkin rings. Vintage bakelite silverware in burgundy, red and gold filigree Turkish glasses and my almost-vintage green and gold glasses complete the Thai table. Even the asian-inspired lamp on the buffet is pretty cha-cha : )
Have a wonderful birthday, Cheryl! I hope its filled with lots of yummy food, some really awesome cake and lots of little girl hugs and kisses.
Tomorrow – Barbara’s birthday!
118 days to go!!

Love how you used the ornaments and its not even Christmas, great way to spice up a table any day of the year.
Fun, festive, charming, and rich-looking. One of my favorites!
